Oleum Crete begins on the Messara plain of southern Crete — a wide, sun-held valley where olive trees have been tended for longer than written memory. Here the Koroneiki olive yields an oil of rare clarity: green, fragrant, and unmistakably alive.
Est. 1983 by the Kidonakis family. Four generations. One valley. Every step — from picking to pressing to bottling — carried out entirely by hand.
One valley, one variety
Every bottle is single-origin and single-variety: 100% Koroneiki from the Messara. We don't blend across regions or seasons — the character of one valley in one harvest is exactly what we want you to taste.
The groves are farmed to organic standards and certified Protected Designation of Origin — Messara. A guarantee that what is on the label was grown, pressed and bottled exactly where it claims to be.
The acidity never exceeds 0.3% — well below what is required for extra-virgin classification, and a direct result of harvesting early and pressing the same day.
Branch to bottle in a single day
The entire process is carried out by the Kidonakis family — by hand, from first light.
Picked by hand at dawn
Koroneiki olives are hand-gathered from the Messara groves while the fruit is still cool — every olive selected individually, nothing mechanised.
Milled within hours
The same olives are cold-extracted below 27°C with a short malaxation, before oxidation can dull a single aroma.
Bottled the same day
For our One Day oil, the entire journey from branch to bottle is completed inside twenty-four hours — fully by hand.
Carried to the UAE
Sealed against light and shipped temperature-controlled, so what you pour is as alive as the moment it was pressed.
